The Rebate Program offers financial incentives to customers who invest in energy-efficient appliances or home improvements. By purchasing eligible products or implementing energy-saving measures, members can receive rebates, helping to offset the upfront costs.
Energy Efficiency Savings
United Electric Cooperative members have received more than $4.7 million in TCS rebates since they were introduced in 2008. Energy demand savings from GSHP and Dual Fuel Heat Pump installations exceed 4 megawatts compared to standard efficiency electric heating options. More than 6,654 tons of high-efficiency heating and cooling have been installed.
The energy efficiency rating must meet ENERGY STAR® standards. For new construction, the rebate applies to the replacement of an existing electric heater that is less than 0.90 efficiency or the replacement of a gas water heater. Limit two (2) per member address.
Available for new construction-homes & buildings. Replacement of electric central air conditioner or electric resistance heat. Replacement of an existing air conditioner or dual-fuel heat pump. The system must be ENERGY STAR certified with at least a 15.2 SEER2 efficiency rating and be installed by a certified dealer. The mini split must be a ductless system and therefore cannot be connected to any ductwork. Limit of up to two (2) per member address.
Must be ENERGY STAR® rated thermostat. For new construction or the replacement of an existing non-Energy Star thermostat, not to exceed 50% of total cost. Limit of up to two (2) per Member address.
On new home or building construction or replacement
Pump will be installed with a Delta T of 80
$750/ton on new home or building construction
$150/ton on the replacement of electric resistance heat, existing natural gas or propane heating system, or an existing central air conditioner or dual fuel heat pump.
Any form of backup heat is allowed
For the replacement of the indoor ground source heat pump unit only-no match required
Required AHRI, Invoice and Manual J Load calculation submission with application.
Rebate maximum of 50 tons commercial and 10 tons residential per facility.
This program is a 50/50 cost-shared incentive for cooperative members who are installing insulation in conjunction with the installation of a new ground source heat pump.
REPLACEMENT $300 per ton or NEW $500 per ton rebate
ENERGY STAR® Plus 2 rated at 17.2 SEER. New home or building construction. Replacement of existing electric resistance heat/central air conditioning/air source heat pump. Supplemental heat must be controlled by an automatic thermostat. Duel fuel requirement. $300/ton (replacement system with existing fossil fuel backup). $500/ton (new or replacement system with new fossil fuel backup). Energy Star cold climate rating of 8.1 HSPF2 or greater. Required AHRI & Invoice submission with application.
Residential and Commercial Members are eligible for a rebate of 50% of the total cost of the Level 2 ‘Smart Charger’, up to $250. Used equipment does not qualify for a rebate. Limit of up to two (2) per member address. Expires December 31, 2025.
